## Navigation Overview – Finding Your Way Around

We have redesigned ShiftMatch’s navigation to improve consistency, accessibility, and usability. This update eliminates the frustration of having to guess where items are located or endlessly clicking to find what you need.

Now, whether you're reviewing your shifts, updating your details, or checking announcements, everything is just a click away.

## Top-Right Navigation – Quick Access to Essential Tools

In the top-right corner of every page, you will now find three important icons:

** Help**

Takes you directly to this guide. Use it to explore new features, get step-by-step instructions, or resolve common questions — all without leaving the page. This will have guides that answer common questions users may have such as:

Keep yourself informed with the latest announcements, feature releases, and significant updates from ShiftMatch. This is your primary source for everything new and what’s on the horizon.

** User Profile**

To access your user profile, click the profile icon, which will reveal a drop-down menu containing the following options:

- **User Profile** – Here, you can manage your personal information, including locations, contact preferences, and password settings.
- **System Details** – This section provides essential environment and version information, which can be helpful for support troubleshooting.
- **Status** – Monitor the ShiftMatch system's uptime or ongoing maintenance by visiting the live system [status page](https://status.shiftmatch.com/).
- **Log Out** – Ensure a secure exit from the platform after your session.

> ℹ️ *Tip:* This menu remains accessible at all times, regardless of your location within ShiftMatch, serving as a dependable reference point whenever you need to check information or log out.

## Left-Hand Navigation – A More Consistent Layout

Inside key areas of ShiftMatch, such as *User Profile*, you’ll now see a left-hand menu that organises all relevant sections in a consistent layout. This new structure makes it easy to navigate without needing to jump between tabs.

### What's Changed?

The system has transitioned from using multiple top-tabs and hidden links to a more streamlined **left-hand sidebar** that offers clear and consistent navigation throughout each section.

### How It Works

In the **User Profile**, you will find the following sections:

- **Details** – Your contact information and professional profile
- **Locations** – Your chosen work sites and associated departments
- **Preferences** – Your notification methods and Do Not Disturb settings
- **Governance** – Acknowledgements or compliance requirements established by your organisation

This structure will be consistent throughout all future sections of ShiftMatch. Once you become familiar with it in one area, you will easily navigate it in all others.

## Why the Change?

The previous design frequently caused confusion and unnecessary backtracking. The updated layout introduces several key improvements:

- Improved visibility of your current location within the platform
- Streamlined access to essential functions
- A unified, modern aesthetic across the interface
- Expanded screen space dedicated to what truly matters — your information and settings
